Campus Safety Committee Meeting Minutes
Attendance:
Ryan Jasen Henne (Student Affairs), Tiffany Perry (Worker’s Compensation/ADA), Trisha Ramos (Worker’s Compensation/ADA), Jordan Lundberg (Teamsters/6), Sydney Johnston (DSS), Dustin Mollo (CSUEU), Nicole Hendry (Facilities Management), Lauren Antoni (Culinary Services), Julie Barnes (School of Science and Technology), Erin Taylor (HR/Labor), Tyson Hill (Risk), Kendall Newman (Emergency Management)
Meeting was called to order at 9:04 a.m.
Minutes from the September meeting were approved.
- T. Perry provided a summary of the month’s worker’s comp claims: 5 work related incidents, 3 claims, 2 reports only; 1 strain, 1 slip and fall, 1 loss of consciousness (report only), wasp sting, and puncture (tack).
- T. Hill reminded the group that a message regarding the Worker’s Compensation reporting requirements was sent out to the campus in September. T. Ramos clarified the required forms are available on the Human Resources website.
- T. Hill reported no reportable new injury or loss claims from EHS/Risk Management.
- Standing Reports
- Police - Not present, no report submitted
- Facilities - Parking lot painting continues in order to support the microgrid project. The Art Building roof building was repaired over the summer and has reported no water intrusion. Efforts are shifting to clear gutters and debris in preparation for winter.
- J.Barnes notified the group that a vendor continues to drive within the Darwin and Stevenson quad. Information being provided to Culinary Services.
- EHS - T.Hill provided an overview of the fish death incident in the Beaujolais pond. EHS and FM continue to handle the situation.
- T. Hill also provided an overview of the potentiality of goats or sheeps coming to campus to help with some landscaping projects. More information will be provided once available on this project.
- Emergency Services - K. Newman provided updates on Emergency Services activities, including the Student Involvement Safety Fair, which occurred on September 13. A Safety Marshal training will be hosted in November, date forthcoming.
- Student Affairs: S. Johnston notified the group of an issue associated with the ADA accessible door at the Cooperage building. J. Lundberg agreed to follow-up. R. Henne reported the Safety Fair on September 13 was a success. R. Henne also reported 105 care reports submitted this semester, 20 a week on average, pacing faster than last year when it comes to students. Additionally, there is now a compliance based website on the Residential Education and Campus Housing website.
