Campus Safety Committee Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Ryan Jasen Henne (Student Affairs), Tiffany Perry (Worker’s Compensation/ADA), Trisha Ramos (Worker’s Compensation/ADA), Jordan Lundberg (Teamsters/6), Missy Brunetta (Risk Management), Michael Enyon (DSS), Dustin Mollo (CSUEU), Maggie Nunes (University Police), Troy McCardle (Facilities Management), Lauren Antoni (Culinary Services), Stephen Green (CSUEU), Erin Taylor (HR/Labor), Tyson Hill (Risk),  Kendall Newman (Emergency Management)

Meeting was called to order at 9:04 a.m. 

  • Minutes approved, Erin Taylor first, Dennis Goss second.
  • T. Perry provided a summary of the month’s worker’s comp claims: 11 incidents - 6 report only, 5 claims, 4 strains, 2 repetitive injury, 1 cut, 2 cart incident no injury, 1 contusion, partial amputation (late report)
  • There were no reportable new injury or loss claims.  
  • Standing Reports
    • Police - Emergency phones were tested - 3 work orders, related to location and sound quality
    • Facilities:  Cypress and F lot pothole repairs scheduled for Tuesday September 19.  
    • EHS: AEDs will be installed at the Corp Yard (mechanics shop) and boiler plant; Updated fall protection plan is under final review; 
    • Emergency Services: Evacuation drills, fastest times ever; Safety Fair on September 13 from 11 am - 1 pm; Planned safety activities for EOC after fire season.
    • Student Affairs: Weeks of welcome ongoing, safety week is next week; Orientation was very successful; significant increase in student activities around campus; DAAPP report will go out on September 19.  
    • CSUEU - Question on the new light up stop signs at Vine and Sequoia intersections; Question on current COVID protocols - COVID is increasing - employees are required to report all COVID cases to EHS, there is a questionnaire on our website to gather relevant information, we will continue to update website with possible contacts with COVID positive individuals, exclusion from the workplace is 5 days after positive test or symptoms; currently have one location in outbreak status.
    • Teamsters - no report
    • HR/Labor - no report
    • No updates from Teamsters Union. 
    • No APC rep present.
    • No CFA rep present.
    • No AS rep present.
  • New Business - Clery report will be issued on 9/15/2023.
