  1. Introductions

    1. No new members or guests present.

  1. Review of minutes from previous month were approved as written. 

  1. Accident & Near Miss Review (Workers’ Compensation)

    1. Injuries reported in October included an ankle strain and a shoulder strain.

    2. Additionally, there is a cleaning product discussion ongoing with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Facilities Management).

  1. Standing reports:

    1. University Police

      1. Representative Karl Mortenson reported six arrests in October including driving under the influence arrest, violation of probation, possession of a controlled substance, and warrant arrests. 

    2. Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

      1. EHS is conducting ongoing lab safety inspections including upcoming engineering department inspection. Art department have already been conducted. 

      2. EHS new website will be live on November 6. Many thanks to the EHS team for this endeavor.  

      3. EHS has developed a new procurement of chemicals plan in response to an audit finding. This program has already been launched and will be available on the new website. 

      4. Hazardous material reduction all over campus occurring. 

    3. Student Affairs

      1. No updates for DSS.

      2. Election monitoring is ongoing and productive. Student Affairs and University Police have partnered together for strategic preparedness. 

      3. Associated Students has focused on lobbying corps program and election support to supports to help promote that in the last month. 

    4. Facilities Management

      1. No updates for FM. 

    5. Emergency Services

      1. Fire season continues through the end of November although we are expecting rain in the coming days. 

      2. COVID-19 update

        1. SSU recently sent out a memo on Canvas to all students and faculty to report COVID-19 cases and that message was very successful. Active and recovered cases are continuing to be reported. 

        2. The current on campus case count for SSU students and employees remains low but does change and new and on-going cases continue in our campus community.

      3. Spring 2021 Continuity Planning

        1. Planning continues for the Spring semester by the Continuity Planning Group including limited reopening of buildings, while still adhering to the tier requirements of our county assignment. 

        2. Current planning is also occurring for the upcoming holidays and winter breaks. 

  1. New Business / Roundtable Discussion

    1. Campus Walk-Through

      1. Risk Management, Environment Health and Safety, and Parking Services conducted a campus compliance walk through and it was very successful. There has also been an improvement with wellness and access compliance from employees as well as increase in general public adherence as well.
