Campus Safety Committee Meeting Minutes July 2023
Attendance: Kendall Newman (Risk Management), Jessica Way (Parking Services), Kelley Green (Teamsters/6), Dennis Goss (CSUEU), Julie Barnes (Science & Technology), Ben Ellis (Student Affairs), Tiffany Perry (Worker’s Compensation/ADA), Jordan Lundberg (Teamsters/6), Missy Brunetta (Risk Management), Erin Taylor (HR/Labor), Stephen Green (CSUEU), Jason Csontos (EH&S), Maggie Nunes (University Police)
- Meeting was called to order at 9:03 a.m.
- Minutes approved, Dennis Goss first, Julie Barnes second.
- T. Perry provided a summary of the month’s worker’s comp claims: 4 total injuries (2 claims, 2 report only). Claims = 1 repetitive and 1 sprain. Report only = 1 possible strain and 1 dislocated shoulder (not work related, but reported just in case)
- There were no reportable new injury or loss claims.
- Standing Reports
- Police - no report
- Facilities: Art Building in progress, vandalism occurred on the roof over the weekend; pathways are completed for phase 1; parking lot repairs pending on Cypress and Lot F; State Fire Marshal shut down the solar project, hoping to get work back up the week of the 17th.

- Program reviews ongoing
- AED purchases and installations pending
- Emergency Services - Not present, no report
- Student Affairs: Increase in students registered for 23-24 with visual impairment, requires additional considerations for campus maintenance, including ensuring all bollards are replaced immediately after removal.
- CSUEU - D. Mollo: non-SSU person (former student) using the 24 hour lab to take virtual classes, having significant issues with making a mess in the bathroom with urine outside the toilet; leaving a mess in the sink and in other common areas; IT wondering if there is a way to restrict access to only active students or how to correct behavior; T. Hill will bring to A&F senior leadership to discuss access rights

- No updates from Teamsters Union.
- No APC rep present.
- No CFA rep present.
- No AS rep present.
- New Business
- Safety of E Lot for Pedestrians: J. Barnes brought forward concerns about the lack of a designated walkway from lot F to Lot E on the west side of E lot; there are historical issues here as the crosswalk was moved to accommodate event traffic considerations; prior study for a sidewalk was cost prohibitive due to irrigation issues for Person Lawn; D. Twedell will look into this and report back.
