Attendance: Missy Brunetta, Jordan Lundberg, Thomas Sargent, Tiffany Perry, Kelley Green, Tyson Hill, Julie Barnes, Dennis Goss, Stephen Green, Kimberly Petersen, Karl Mortensen, Michael Hazen, Lauren Antoni, Trisha Ramos, Ryan Henne, Kendall Newman

 

Minutes

  1. Meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m. 

  2. Review of minutes from the previous month were approved.

  3. Incident Review 

    1. Tiffany Perry reported several worker’s compensation reports. There were only three reports only. Some included a strain and two repetitive injuries. One injury was referred to Environmental Health and Safety for investigation. 

    2. Perry also mentioned that worker’s compensation reports are not coming in timely. Perry further encouraged all employees and managers to report timely, as appropriate. 

    3. Missy Brunetta reported that there were no Risk or EHS issues that month.

  4. Standing Reports

    1. Karl Mortensen from Sonoma State University Police Department reported a summary of crimes for the month of July including DUI arrests, vandalism notifications, motor vehicle thefts, and warrant arrests. 

    2. Brunetta reported that Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is focusing efforts on program reviews to ensure SSU is meeting all regulator requirements. Thomas Sargent thanked Tony Gutsch for his subject matter expertise on the drinking water and well program. 

    3. Dana Twedell provided an update for Facilities Management. The second round of repairs associated with the electrical issues are ongoing thanks to Chancellor’s Officer funding. The Microgrid project is currently in the design phase and moving forward. 

    4. Ryan Henne reported that the Drug and Alcohol Program report is being updated in preparation for release in September. Move-in is occurring the week of August 14, expecting over 2,000 residents. 

    5. Henne reported that Disability Services for Students is isn the process of registering new students and providing the appropriate accommodation requests to support students

    6. Henne also provided an update on planned student events and upcoming activities such as Big Night, Week of Welcome, and other Orientation events. 

    7. Brunetta shared no updates for SafeSSU.

    8. Dennis Goss from CSUEU discussed union-related items with project work happening on campus that was addressed in the last month. 

    9. Jordan Lundberg had no updates. 

    10. No APC rep present.

  5. Brunetta shared an update on COVID-19, which continues to be showing a slight surge of the current variant that shows symptoms, however, lower hospitalizations that prior variants. 

  6. Brunetta provided updates regarding emergency service planning services, which included a recap of the full-scale functional exercise in June. In addition, Brunetta discussed where Sonoma County sits in fire season, giving the approach. 

  7. Brunetta also provided a general overview of the emerging concerns related to Monkeypox.
