Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
EHS discussed the develop of new health and safety programs:
Asbestos Awareness
Completed mid-may
Heat Illness Awareness
EHS focusing on education to employees’ managers to increase awareness
Sunscreen is available in the Facilities Management vending machines
EHS shared that the Student Health Center received wonderful recognition in their department waste and lab audit
Christy Gorman reported that School of Science and Technology has completed all of their self-inspections. Additionally, with repopulation EHS will move forward with moving more departments onto the RSS system
Gorman also reported that 55 inspections were completed with a 91% compliance rate.
Facilities Management
Dana Twedell reported that Facilities was continuing to support all repopulation efforts as well as Commencement efforts.
Student Affairs
Ryan Jasen Henne reported that Student Affairs has managed 627 CARE cases this year.
Henne also shared that there was an uptick in Academic Dishonesty cases this year. More programming in the following year focusing on the issue would be released.
CSUEU
Discussion ensured regarding the Corporation Yard pavement and asphalt. Dana Twedell shared that Facilities Management was continuing to prioritize the project and advocate for repairs.
Disability Services for Students
Michael Eynon reported that disability awareness month was a success. Several wonderful recorded events are available on their website.
Emergency Services
COVID-19
Missy Brunetta shared with the group that COVID-19 response continues to increase. Sonoma County continues to improve and should move into a less restrictive tier in the coming weeks.
Brunetta also reported the formal repopulation plan for Fall 2021 semester is preparing to be submitted to the Chancellor’s Office.
California continues to move towards the June 15 Beyond the Blueprint plan for COVID-19 safety measure sunsets. The State is slated to release new guidelines in line with new CDC guidelines.
Drought
Brunetta shared that the state has declared an emergency for drought. There is a large push for personal water reduction. SSU will continue to do planning around this to ensure adequate response under drought conditions.
Wildfires and Public Safety Power Shut-offs (PSPS)
Additionally, Brunetta shared that SSU continues to partner with PGE and local partners to plan for potential wildfires and PSPS conditions.
